Demo update, version 0.1.3


This week was about fixing and tiding up some obvious issues with the demo.

There are now additional configuration options that you can find in the Settings menu:

  • You can enable V-Sync and FPS limiter.
  • You can adjust the visibility range for in-world objects.
  • There are basic sounds now, and related sound options (Music and Ambient sliders currently have no effect because there is no music or ambient sounds).
  • You can change the display device, if you have multiple displays. Please let me know if it works as expected for you, you may need to disable fullscreen to see any effect.

Menus now have full keyboard navigation, which should help with controller support that is planned for a future version of the game.

Gameplay-wise there is now a schematic map that can be used instead of the “satellite” view. It brings another kind of challenge to the game, giving more details about some areas and less about others. Right now you are free to switch between the two modes, but in a future version you will be able to disable one of the other completely before starting the map.

Demo map was also updated with some visual tweaks, including slight lighting changes. Expect more work on the visual fidelity over the next couple of weeks as I develop the necessary workflows before creating a new map later this year.
